I just wanted to take the time to tell you how Hillary and I ended up moving to Kentucky. For Hillary, she went to Motlow right after high school in the fall of 2008 to play ball. I, on the other hand, had a more of a hilly and curvy road leading to where we are today. I played ball at Lipscomb in 2005-2006 and decided it wasn't for me. I had come to the conclusion my softball days were over. I then started teaching pitching lessons in and around the nearby cities of Manchester. THEN, I got a call from my high school coach. He offered me a job as an assistant coach! I had been told many times that I should be a coach, but I didn't ever think I would want to pursue that. However, I thought I would give it a shot. After coaching with him for 2 years, he made me get the softball itch again. I decided I wanted to give playing one more shot. So, a few phone calls were made and I became apart of the Motlow softball team. Hillary and I didn't know eachother till fall of 2009. It took us about a month or so before we really started talking and we realized that we were long lost friends! We've been inseparable ever since. We had discussed about how awesome it would be if we could go to the same school after Motlow. We thought it would be a long shot considering my only options were to go NAIA because my eligibility was up for NCAA. In November of 2009, we get a call from the coach at Union College and he wants not just one of us but BOTH of us! AND Union is NAIA! We couldn't of been more excited. December 2009, we went on our visit and toured the campus. We fell in love with the small school and the very small town that was surrounded by mountains. We knew that this is where we wanted to be. So, scholarships were discussed and an agreement was reached and a month later in January 2010 we signed the dotted line to attend and play softball at Union College! Here are a few pictures of Hillary and I playing this past spring at Motlow and our picture of us signing with Union... ENJOY! :)
